Zeno of Citium (334–262 BCE)

tags: Astrology, Philosophy

Zeno of Citium was a Greek philosopher from the island of Cyprus. He is considered to be the founder of the Stoic school of philosophy, which taught that all emotions could be overcome by reason. Zeno’s teachings also included the idea that one should strive to live a life of virtue and that astrology could provide insight and guidance in life. He was a proponent of the idea that the stars and planets could be used to inform decisions and that they could provide insight into the future. This belief in astrology was shared by many of the ancient Greeks and was incorporated into the Stoic philosophy.
